<p><strong>PALO ALTO, Calif. — December 16, 2011 —</strong>The <a href="http://www.anitaborg.org/">Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology</a> today announced a turnout of almost 1000 attendees for the second <a href="http://www.gracehopper.in/">Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing India</a> Conference. The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing India is the only annual conference exclusively for technical women in India; it brings the research and career interests of women in computing in India to the forefront. Presenters are leaders in their respective fields representing industrial, academic and government communi­ties. The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing is taking place at the KTPO Trade Centre in Bangalore India, December 14-16, 2011.</p>
<p>“The Grace Hopper Celebration for Women in Computing provides a platform for technical women from all over India to discuss the latest technology as well as explore professional and personal development. Over 300 Indian technical women from 84 organizations have worked together over the last year to develop sessions and content specific to the challenges for technical women. The demand for this conference and this community is growing as technical women understand that their network is important to their retention and advancement in their career” said Deanna Kosaraju, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives.</p>
<p>Thursday, December 15th featured a Keynote by Hema Gopal, Vice President, Tata Consultancy Services Limited. In conjunction with the India Semiconductor Association (ISA) the conference will feature an Electronic System Design and Manufacturing track including a keynote by Dina McKinney, Corporate Vice President, Technology Group, AMD.   Conference sessions include Managing Upwards, Robust Routing in Ad Hoc Networks, and Chip Verification.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>PALO ALTO, Calif. — October 25, 2011 —</strong>The 2011 <a href="http://www.gracehopper.in/">Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing India</a>, December 14-16, 2011, will present the first <a href="http://gracehopper.org.in/2011/participate/woman-entrepreneur-quest/"><em>Women Entrepreneur Quest</em></a>. The contest is designed to promote and showcase early-stage technology ventures founded or led by women entrepreneurs in all technologies and have applied technology in innovative ways to solve meaningful business problems.  <a href="https://ssl.linklings.net/conferences/ghcindia/">New: Applications</a> are being accepted until November 6, 2011.</p>
<p>The selection committee will filter the top eight startups from all the business plans submitted. The eight finalists will be mentored closely by <a href="http://www.saarthiconsulting.com/">Saarthi</a>, a management consultancy who works with entrepreneurs and start-ups on their plans via mentoring, advising and consulting. to shape their pitches for the final Showcase event. The final pitches will be made personally at the <a href="http://www.gracehopper.in/">Grace Hopper Celebration in India</a>, December 16, 2011 in Bangalore in front of a distinguished panel of judges. The panel will be comprised of a mix of angel investors, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and mentors. The Showcase and Award Presentation will be held on Dec 16, 2011.  Prizes include a cash award of Rs 5 lakhs to the winner; the eight finalists will receive three months of complimentary mentoring by Saarthi and 5 hours of legal consulting time from Novojuris. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>PALO ALTO, Calif. — October 25, 2011 —</strong>The <a href="http://www.anitaborg.org/">Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology</a> has partnered with the <a href="http://www.isaonline.org">India Semiconductor Association</a> (ISA) to provide a new track at the <a href="http://www.gracehopper.in/">Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing India</a>, December 14-16, 2011 at the KTPO Trade Centre, Bangalore, India.   ISA is the premier trade body representing the Indian Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) industry and has represented it since 2005. ISA is committed towards building global awareness for the Indian ESDM industry and supporting its growth through focused initiatives in developing the ecosystem.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>PALO ALTO, Calif. — October 25, 2011 —</strong>Registration is now open for the <a href="http://www.gracehopper.in/">2<sup>nd</sup> Annual Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing India</a> (GHCI).  The annual conference, presented by the <a href="http://www.anitaborg.org/">Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology</a>, is the world’s largest gathering of women in computing.   The Grace Hopper Celebration India will take place from December 14-16, 2011 at the KTPO Trade Centre, Bangalore, India.  This year’s theme <em>“What Next…?”</em> recognizes that innovation in technology arises from the question what comes next in the evolution of technology and the culture of technology.</p>
<p>The Grace Hopper Celebration is designed to bring the research and career interests of women in computing to the forefront. Leading researchers present their current work, while special sessions focus on the role of women in today’s technology fields, including computer science, information technology, research and engineering.  The technical conference features well known keynote speakers, panels, workshops, technical posters, birds of a feather sessions and an Awards Celebration.</p>
<p>Highlights of the Conference will include <a href="http://gracehopper.org.in/2011/participate/woman-entrepreneur-quest/">Women Entrepreneur Quest</a>; 64 Conference sessions, a Technical Poster session and over 250 speakers.</p>

<p>The Grace Hopper Celebration is designed to bring the research and career interests of women in computing to the forefront. Leading researchers present their current work, while special sessions focus on the role of women in today&#8217;s technology fields, including computer science, information technology, research and engineering.  The technical conference features well known keynote speakers, panels, workshops, technical posters, birds of a feather sessions and an Awards Celebration.</p>
<p>Submissions on both technical and professional topics are encouraged. The Grace Hopper Conference committee is requesting submissions that reflect the conference theme &#8220;What Next…?&#8221; in the areas of innovation within a company, from academia, or from individual contributors. Technical submissions that cross disciplines and other boundaries are encouraged<strong>. </strong></p>

<p>The 2010 Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing India attracted 600 participants from India and other countries.  The 2011 conference is expected to attract over 1500 technical women.</p>
